Buscogast Injection

Buscogast Injection contains Hyoscine butylbromide 20 mg/mL (injection). Prescription required.

Relief of abdominal cramps and spasmodic pain, intestinal spasm, biliary colic, renal colic, spasms of gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract; adjunct in diagnostic/therapeutic procedures where spasm relief is needed

Hyoscine butylbromide is an antispasmodic with peripheral anticholinergic action. It relaxes smooth muscles in the stomach, intestines, biliary and urinary tract by blocking muscarinic receptors, reducing spasms and pain.

Injection to be administered by a healthcare professional (IV/IM as prescribed). Dose depends on age and severity; follow doctor instructions. Seek urgent care if severe abdominal pain persists or is associated with fever/vomiting.

Dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, tachycardia, urinary retention, flushing, injection site reactions

Use with caution in glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, prostatic enlargement/urinary retention, intestinal obstruction/ileus, tachyarrhythmias. May cause blurred vision/dizziness; avoid driving if affected. Seek medical help for allergic reactions or severe abdominal symptoms.

Other anticholinergics (additive effects), tricyclic antidepressants, antihistamines (sedating/anticholinergic), antipsychotics, amantadine, MAO inhibitors; prokinetics like metoclopramide may have reduced GI effects

Store below 25°C, protect from light, do not freeze. Keep in original pack; use only if solution is clear and container intact.
