Monograph
C Vit Tab contains Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) (strength unknown).
Prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency (scurvy), nutritional supplementation during increased requirements (e.g., poor diet, illness recovery), supports immune function and antioxidant needs
Vitamin C is an essential water‑soluble vitamin that acts as an antioxidant and a cofactor in collagen synthesis. It supports wound healing, connective tissue integrity, and helps improve absorption of non‑heme iron from food.
Take orally as directed by a physician/dietitian. Typically taken once daily after food with water; do not exceed the recommended dose. If used for deficiency states, dosing and duration depend on clinical need.
Nausea, stomach upset, abdominal cramps, heartburn, diarrhea
Use with caution in patients with history of kidney stones (oxalate stones), renal impairment, hemochromatosis/thalassemia (risk of iron overload), and G6PD deficiency (very high doses may rarely trigger hemolysis). High doses may increase risk of kidney stones and can interfere with some lab tests; inform the lab/doctor if taking vitamin C.
Iron salts (may increase iron absorption), warfarin (high-dose vitamin C may affect INR in some cases), aluminum-containing antacids (may increase aluminum absorption), deferoxamine (use cautiously; vitamin C can increase iron mobilization)
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
