Celol Plus

Celol Plus contains Calcium citrate (250mg) + Calcitriol (0.25mcg) + Zinc (7.5mg) and is used for preventing osteoporosis. Prescription required.

Prevention of Osteoporosis

Celol Plus Tablet is a mixture of zinc, calcitriol, and calcium citrate. Calcium, which is necessary for bone mineralisation and strength, is directly provided by calcium citrate. The active form of vitamin D3, calcitriol, improves intestinal absorption of calcium and aids in maintaining the body's calcium balance. By promoting collagen synthesis and bone cell activity, zinc contributes to the development and repair of bone tissue. They cooperate to preserve bone mass and stop osteoporosis from getting worse.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Celol Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Do not take more than your doctor has advised. Vitamin D builds up in the body and too much raises blood calcium, causing thirst, frequent urination, nausea and confusion. High-dose weekly or monthly sachets are prescription strengths — do not repeat one because you missed a week. Tell your doctor if you have had kidney stones or have kidney disease. This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own. A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up.

Calcium reduces the absorption of thyroid tablets, several antibiotics and iron — separate them by a few hours. Water tablets of the thiazide group raise calcium further when combined. Give your doctor and pharmacist a full list of everything you take. Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect.
