Supportive treatment in acute ischemic stroke, head injury/traumatic brain injury, cognitive impairment and memory problems (as prescribed), adjunct in neurological rehabilitation
Citicoline (CDP-choline) is a precursor of phosphatidylcholine and helps in neuronal membrane repair. It increases availability of choline for acetylcholine synthesis and supports brain metabolism, which may aid recovery in stroke/TBI and cognitive symptoms.
Tablet for oral use. Take as directed by the physician, preferably at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew unless advised.
Headache, nausea, stomach discomfort, diarrhea, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness
Use only on medical advice in stroke/TBI or cognitive disorders. Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to limited human data. Inform your doctor if you have severe liver/kidney disease, epilepsy, or are taking other neuropsychiatric medicines. Stop and seek medical help if allergic reactions occur.
May enhance effects of levodopa; potential additive effects with other cholinergic agents and CNS-acting medicines; tell your doctor about all medicines/supplements you use
