Monograph
Aspirin (75mg) + Clopidogrel (150mg)
Dual antiplatelet therapy for prevention of clot formation in coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndrome and after angioplasty/stent as prescribed
Clopidogrel irreversibly blocks P2Y12 receptors on platelets to inhibit aggregation. Aspirin inhibits COX-1 and decreases thromboxane A2, reducing platelet activation. The combination lowers risk of arterial thrombosis.
Take once daily or as prescribed, preferably after food. Swallow whole with water; do not stop without medical advice.
Bleeding, bruising, nosebleed, stomach irritation, heartburn, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, rash
Serious bleeding risk; avoid in active bleeding/ulcer, severe liver disease, or aspirin allergy. Use caution in kidney disease, uncontrolled hypertension, and before surgery/dental work. Not recommended in late pregnancy; avoid in children with viral fever.
Warfarin/DOACs/heparin, NSAIDs, other antiplatelets increase bleeding; SSRIs/SNRIs increase bleeding; alcohol increases GI bleeding; omeprazole/esomeprazole may reduce clopidogrel effect; methotrexate levels/toxicity may increase with aspirin
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture.
