Helps support urinary tract health; commonly used as a cranberry-based supplement for prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and to reduce urinary discomfort/odor (as a dietary supplement).
Cranberry contains proanthocyanidins (PACs) that may reduce the ability of E. coli bacteria to adhere to the urinary tract lining, thereby lowering the risk of infection. It may also provide antioxidant support.
Oral supplement. Take as directed on the label or by a doctor; typically taken once or twice daily with water, preferably after food. Maintain adequate fluid intake.
Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, heartburn
Dietary supplement; not a substitute for antibiotics in active UTI. Consult a doctor if you have fever, flank pain, blood in urine, pregnancy/breastfeeding, diabetes, kidney disease or history of kidney stones. Cranberry may increase bleeding risk in people on anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin). Discontinue and seek medical advice if allergic reactions occur.
Warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk), antiplatelet drugs (e.g., aspirin, clopidogrel), medicines affected by urine acidification (theoretical)
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
Cranberry 500mg tablets/capsules (generic), Cranpac Tablet, Cranmax Capsule, Cystocran Capsule, Cranberry Extract Capsules (any equivalent PAC/strength)
