Fever, mild to moderate pain such as headache, body ache, toothache, sore throat pain, backache, musculoskeletal pain, pain associated with cold/flu

Paracetamol works mainly by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, which lowers pain perception and reduces fever. It also acts on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to bring down body temperature.

Tablet for oral use. Take as advised by doctor; commonly 1 tablet when needed for fever/pain, with water, preferably after food if it causes stomach upset. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose; avoid taking multiple paracetamol-containing products together.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, rash, allergic reactions (rare), raised liver enzymes (with high/prolonged doses)

Do not exceed total daily paracetamol dose (risk of severe liver damage). Use with caution in liver disease, chronic alcoholism, malnutrition, or severe kidney disease. Seek medical help if rash/allergy occurs. If fever persists >3 days or pain >5 days, consult a doctor.

Alcohol, warfarin/other coumarin anticoagulants (with prolonged regular use), rifampicin, isoniazid, phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital (enzyme inducers), other hepatotoxic medicines

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
