Dexorange Sy

Dexorange Sy contains Iron (as Ferric Ammonium Citrate) + Folic Acid + Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) syrup (strengths vary by batch/label).

Iron deficiency anaemia, nutritional anaemia due to iron/folate/B12 deficiency, anaemia in pregnancy and lactation (as advised), anaemia due to poor dietary intake or increased requirement

Iron replenishes body iron stores and supports haemoglobin formation for oxygen transport. Folic acid and vitamin B12 are required for DNA synthesis and red blood cell production, helping correct megaloblastic components of anaemia.

Oral syrup; shake well before use and measure with a cup/spoon. Take as prescribed by the doctor; may be taken after food to reduce stomach upset. Avoid taking at the same time as milk/tea/coffee, antacids or calcium supplements; keep a 2-hour gap.

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pain, heartburn, metallic taste, dark/black stools, teeth staining (with liquid iron)

Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., haemochromatosis/haemosiderosis) or non–iron-deficiency anaemia unless advised. Keep out of reach of children—iron overdose can be fatal. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease or history of GI intolerance. If symptoms persist or there is blood in stools/vomiting, seek medical advice.

Antacids, calcium supplements and dairy reduce iron absorption; tetracyclines/quinolones (e.g., doxycycline, ciprofloxacin), levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, penicillamine—separate dosing by 2–4 hours. Methotrexate, trimethoprim, phenytoin may interact with folic acid. Chloramphenicol may blunt haematologic response.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place; protect from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed; do not freeze.
