Fluticasone propionate 50 mcg per actuation (metered dose inhaler)
Maintenance treatment of bronchial asthma; maintenance therapy for COPD with an inhaled corticosteroid where indicated; helps prevent wheezing and shortness of breath
Fluticasone is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways. This decreases airway hyper‑responsiveness and helps prevent asthma/COPD symptoms and exacerbations when used regularly.
For inhalation use only. Use exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day. Shake well before each puff; inhale through the device as instructed. Rinse mouth/gargle with water after use to reduce risk of oral thrush. Not meant for rapid relief of acute bronchospasm; keep a reliever inhaler if prescribed.
Hoarseness/voice change,throat irritation,cough,oral thrush (candidiasis),headache,nasal/throat dryness
Schedule H: use on prescription only. Do not use for sudden attacks of breathlessness. Rinse mouth after each use to prevent fungal infection. Use with caution in active/latent tuberculosis, untreated infections, glaucoma/cataract, osteoporosis, liver disease. Long-term/high-dose use may cause adrenal suppression and slowed growth in children; use lowest effective dose. Seek medical help if breathing worsens after inhalation (paradoxical bronchospasm).
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir, cobicistat, ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin) may increase systemic corticosteroid effects; other corticosteroids (additive effects); avoid unnecessary concurrent use unless advised by doctor
