Fondum 2.5 mg Injection

Fondum 2.5 mg Injection contains Fondaparinux (2.5mg). Prescription required.

Fondum 2.5 mg Injection is used to prevent blood clots. It prevents blood clot formation that may be due to orthopedic (such as hip or knee surgery) or abdominal surgery or due to restricted mobility as a result of acute illness.

Fondum 2.5 mg Injection is an anticoagulant. It stops the action of a substance (clotting factor Xa) from working in the blood. This prevents the formation of unwanted blood clots (thrombosis) in the blood vessels.

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

Bleeding Anemia (low number of red blood cells)

Seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, blood in the vomit or urine, a severe headache, or bleeding that will not stop. Tell every doctor and dentist treating you that you are on a blood thinner, well before any procedure. Never stop this medicine on your own before surgery or dental work — stopping it carries its own risk, and the decision is your doctor's. Avoid contact sports and take care with razors and sharp tools.

Anti-inflammatory painkillers, including over-the-counter ones, sharply raise the bleeding risk. Combining two blood thinners multiplies the risk — never add one yourself. Tell your doctor about all herbal products; several affect clotting.

Store as printed on the carton — some injections need refrigeration and must not be frozen. Keep out of the reach of children.
