Glipcrin Dm 10/1000 Tablet contains Dapagliflozin (10mg) + Metformin (1000mg) + Sitagliptin (100mg) and is used for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Prescription required.

Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Glipcrin DM 10/1000 Tablet ER is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines. Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion and reduces blood glucose levels. Metformin decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by the liver. Metformin also increases the body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood. Sitagliptin helps control blood sugar levels by increasing substances (incretins) in the body that make the pancreas release more insulin. It also signals the liver to stop producing sugar (glucose) when there is too much sugar in the blood.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glipcrin DM 10/1000 Tablet ER may be taken with or without food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Drink enough water, especially in hot weather or if you have loose motions — this medicine makes you pass more urine. Seek urgent care for nausea with vomiting, stomach pain and deep rapid breathing, even if your sugar reading is normal. Report any pain, tenderness, redness or swelling in the genital area or perineum immediately — this is rare but needs same-day attention. Genital thrush is common; keep the area clean and dry and tell your doctor if it recurs. Stomach upset is common in the first two weeks and usually settles; taking it with food helps. Tell your doctor before any surgery or a scan that uses contrast dye — this medicine is usually stopped for a short time around them. Stop and seek urgent care if you develop deep rapid breathing, severe weakness, muscle pain or vomiting with cold clammy skin. This is rare but serious. Long-term use can lower vitamin B12, so your doctor may check it from time to time. Stop and see a doctor urgently if you get severe, persistent abdominal pain that spreads to your back, with or without vomiting. Tell your doctor if you develop severe or disabling joint pain. Blisters or peeling of the skin should be reported promptly.

Water tablets increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure when taken with this. Low blood sugar is more likely when combined with insulin or a sulfonylurea. Tell your doctor about water tablets, steroids, and any contrast dye scan. Alcohol increases the risk of the rare acid build-up and should be limited. Low blood sugar is more likely when this is combined with a sulfonylurea or insulin; your doctor may lower that dose.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
