Adjunct in liver disorders associated with raised ammonia levels such as hepatic encephalopathy, fatty liver and other hepatic dysfunction; used to support liver detoxification and improve symptoms like confusion, fatigue and poor appetite in liver disease (as advised by doctor).
L-ornithine L-aspartate provides substrates that enhance the urea cycle and glutamine synthesis in the liver, helping convert toxic ammonia into urea/glutamine for elimination. Nicotinamide supports energy metabolism and nutritional replenishment, often needed in chronic liver disease.
I.V. vial: to be administered only by a healthcare professional as slow IV injection/infusion after dilution as prescribed. Dose and duration depend on indication and ammonia levels; do not self-administer. May be used in hospital/clinic settings; follow doctor’s instructions.
Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, injection site pain/redness, headache, dizziness, skin rash/itching
For intravenous use only; administer under medical supervision. Use with caution in severe renal impairment and monitor kidney function. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur—stop infusion and seek medical help if rash, swelling, breathing difficulty occurs. Monitor ammonia levels and clinical status in hepatic encephalopathy. Not a substitute for definitive management of liver failure; avoid self-medication.
No major interactions commonly reported for L-ornithine L-aspartate; however, inform doctor about all medicines. Nicotinamide may affect glycaemic control (antidiabetics), and high doses may interact with hepatotoxic drugs; monitor if used with other liver-impacting medicines.
Store below 25°C. Protect from light. Do not freeze. Keep in original carton; use immediately after opening/dilution as per hospital protocol.
