Fever, mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, body ache, back pain, muscle pain, joint pain, sore throat, menstrual pain, pain associated with common cold/flu

Paracetamol inhibits prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, which reduces pain perception. It also acts on the heat-regulating center in the brain to lower fever.

Tablet for oral use. Take as directed by a doctor; commonly 1 tablet as needed for fever/pain, preferably after food with water. Maintain a gap of 4–6 hours between doses; do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, rash, elevated liver enzymes (rare)

Do not exceed the prescribed dose; overdose can cause serious liver damage. Use with caution in liver disease, chronic alcoholism, malnutrition, or severe kidney disease. Avoid taking multiple products containing paracetamol together. Seek medical help if fever lasts >3 days or pain >5 days, or if allergic symptoms occur.

Alcohol, warfarin/other coumarin anticoagulants (with prolonged use), phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, rifampicin/isoniazid, other hepatotoxic medicines

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
