Medrol 4 Tablet

Medrol 4 Tablet contains Methylprednisolone (4mg). Prescription required.

Used to treat inflammatory and autoimmune conditions such as allergies, asthma exacerbations, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, skin disorders (eczema/dermatitis), inflammatory bowel disease, and other conditions where suppression of inflammation and immune response is needed.

Methylprednisolone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators and decreasing immune system activity. It helps relieve swelling, redness, itching, and allergic symptoms in steroid-responsive conditions.

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food or milk to reduce stomach upset. Take at the same time each day; if on a tapering schedule, follow it strictly and do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Indigestion, nausea, increased appetite, weight gain, mood changes, insomnia, headache, increased blood sugar, fluid retention, increased blood pressure

Schedule H: use only on prescription. Do not stop abruptly—risk of adrenal suppression; tapering may be required. Can increase risk of infections and mask signs of infection; avoid close contact with people having contagious infections and consult doctor if fever occurs. Use caution in diabetes, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, osteoporosis, glaucoma/cataract, thyroid disorders, liver disease, and in elderly. Avoid live vaccines during high-dose/systemic therapy. Long-term use may cause Cushingoid features, bone loss, muscle weakness, and growth suppression in children; regular monitoring may be needed.

NSAIDs (increased GI ulcer/bleeding risk), anticoagulants like warfarin (altered INR), antidiabetics/insulin (reduced glucose control), diuretics like furosemide (hypokalemia), digoxin (arrhythmia risk with low potassium), CYP3A4 inducers like rifampicin/phenytoin/carbamazepine (reduced effect), CYP3A4 inhibitors like ketoconazole/ritonavir (increased steroid effects), live vaccines (infection risk)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
