Monograph
Tablet
Treatment and prevention of vitamin B-complex deficiency, peripheral neuropathy/neuritis, numbness and tingling due to nerve damage, supportive therapy in neuropathic pain
Vitamins B1, B6 and B12 support normal nerve function and repair. They help maintain myelin sheath integrity, aid neurotransmitter synthesis and improve nerve conduction, thereby reducing symptoms like numbness and tingling due to deficiency-related neuropathy.
Oral tablet. Take as advised by doctor; commonly 1 tablet once daily after food. Swallow whole with water. Do not exceed recommended dose unless prescribed.
Nausea, stomach upset, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, rash, itching
Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to B vitamins. Do not use high doses for prolonged periods without medical advice. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor. Patients with severe liver disease or those on multiple medicines should seek medical advice before use.
Levodopa (without carbidopa/benserazide) may be antagonized by pyridoxine, isoniazid (may increase B6 requirement), penicillamine (may reduce B6 levels), chloramphenicol (may blunt hematologic response to vitamin B12), metformin and proton pump inhibitors (may reduce B12 absorption with long-term use)
