Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke/heart attack in high‑risk patients as advised by doctor

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks AT1 receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and widen, which lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart.

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, with or without food. Swallow tablet with water at the same time each day; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Dizziness,headache,fatigue,low blood pressure (hypotension),increased potassium (hyperkalaemia),nausea

Not recommended in pregnancy (especially 2nd/3rd trimester) due to risk of fetal harm. Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt state, and in patients prone to low BP. Monitor kidney function and serum potassium, especially when starting or changing dose. Seek medical help for swelling of face/lips (angioedema) or severe dizziness/fainting.

ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (increased risk of kidney impairment/hyperkalaemia),potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone/eplerenone/amiloride),NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen/diclofenac; may reduce effect and harm kidneys),diuretics (may cause excessive BP drop),lithium (increased lithium toxicity)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
