Parkin Tablet 15S Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Trihexyphenidyl (2mg). It is used for Parkinson's disease and drug induced abnormal movements. It belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-dementia / anti-parkinsonian agent.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Parkin Tablet 15S Tablet are dryness in mouth Nausea Vomiting Constipation Blurred vision. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Parkin Tablet 15S Tablet works.
Most side effects of Parkin are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Parkin Tablet is to be taken with food.
Parkin Tablet is an anticholinergic medication. It works by decreasing the activity of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) in the brain. This improves muscle control and reduces stiffness in Parkinson's disease. It also improves movement disorder (restlessness, involuntary movements or muscle spasm) caused by certain other medicines.
Never stop a Parkinson's medicine suddenly — this can cause a severe and dangerous deterioration. Dose timing matters a great deal in Parkinson's disease. Take it at exactly the times prescribed. Report sudden daytime sleep attacks, hallucinations, or new gambling, spending or other impulsive behaviour — these are recognised effects and the dose may need review. Rise slowly from sitting or lying; a drop in blood pressure on standing is common.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause severe confusion, abnormal movements, a very slow pulse and collapse. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
