Q-Mind 25 is a prescription medicine containing Quetiapine (25mg). It is used for schizophrenia and mania. It belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotic.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Q-Mind 25 are headache Dystonia Sleepiness Parkinsonism Akathisia Dizziness Decreased haemoglobin level in blood Weight gain Increased triglyceride level in blood. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Q-Mind 25 works.
Most side effects of Q-Mind are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Q-Mind 25 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Q-Mind 25 Tablet is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by modulating the action of certain chemical messengers in the brain that affect thoughts.
Report any tremor, stiffness, restlessness or uncontrollable movements of the face, tongue or limbs to your doctor promptly — these can become persistent if not addressed. Seek emergency care for high fever with severe muscle stiffness, confusion and sweating. This is rare but life-threatening. These medicines can raise blood sugar, cholesterol and weight. Your doctor will monitor them — keep those appointments. Never stop suddenly; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually. Take care in hot weather — this group affects how your body regulates temperature.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause deep drowsiness, a severe fall in blood pressure, abnormal movements and heart rhythm disturbance. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Keep taking it as prescribed.</li> <li>Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Q-Mind 25 Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.</li> <li>To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.</li> <li>It may increase your weight, blood sugar and cholesterol. Eat healthy, exercise regularly and monitor your blood levels regularly.</li> <li>Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior.</li> <li>Do not stop taking it without talking to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div>
