Ssdee Ultra 15 g is a prescription medicine containing Chlorhexidine (0.20%W/W) + Metronidazole (1.0%W/W) + Silver Sulfadiazine (1.0%W/W). It is used for wound cleaning, minor cuts, grazes, skin disinfection, bacterial infection, gut infection, skin infection, dental infection, infected wounds, impetigo and boils. It belongs to the group of medicines called Antiseptic and disinfectant, Antibacterial agent and Topical antibacterial.
Use this medicine as your doctor has directed. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Ssdee Ultra 15 g are stinging on application, redness, dryness and staining of skin or clothing. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Ssdee Ultra 15 g works.
Most side effects of Ssdee Ultra are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Use this medicine as your doctor has directed. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
This medicine combines 3 active ingredients: Chlorhexidine, Metronidazole and Silver Sulphadiazine. Chlorhexidine kills germs on the skin and in a wound, reducing the chance of infection. Metronidazole kills or stops the growth of the bacteria causing your infection. Silver Sulphadiazine kills the bacteria infecting the skin at the place it is applied.
For external use only. Keep away from the eyes and the inside of the mouth and nose unless the product is made for that purpose. Do not use a strong antiseptic repeatedly on an open wound — clean running water and soap around the edges are usually better, and harsh antiseptics slow healing. See a doctor for a deep or dirty wound, an animal bite, a wound that will not stop bleeding, or one that becomes red, swollen, warm or discharges. Check that your tetanus cover is current after any dirty or penetrating wound. Finish the whole course even after you feel better. Do not drink any alcohol while taking metronidazole, ornidazole or tinidazole, or for the period after the course that your doctor states — the combination causes severe flushing, vomiting and a racing heart. Report severe or watery loose motions during or after the course rather than treating them yourself. Tetracyclines stain developing teeth and are avoided in young children and in pregnancy. Antibiotics do not work against colds, flu or most sore throats, which are caused by viruses. Use it for the short course prescribed, usually about a week. Prolonged use of a topical antibiotic breeds resistant bacteria. See a doctor if the area becomes more red, swollen, painful or spreads, or if you develop a fever — a spreading skin infection needs tablets. Clean the area gently before each application. Do not use it on large raw areas or burns unless your doctor has said to.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from skin use, but swallowing an antiseptic is dangerous and needs immediate medical attention. It can cause vomiting, severe loose motions and nerve symptoms. It is unlikely from skin use. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
