Telemar 40 H

Telmisartan (40mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg)

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single-agent therapy is not sufficient; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events associated with uncontrolled BP.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that increases salt and water excretion through urine, reducing fluid volume and BP. Together they provide additive blood pressure control.

Oral tablet. Take once daily as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Diuretic component may increase urination—taking in the morning may help avoid night-time urination.

Not recommended in pregnancy; can harm the unborn baby—stop and consult doctor if pregnant. Use caution in kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, liver disease, dehydration/low salt state, gout, diabetes, or history of electrolyte imbalance. May cause dizziness—avoid driving until you know the effect. Periodic monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine), and electrolytes (potassium/sodium) is advised. Seek urgent care for swelling of face/lips/tongue (angioedema), severe lightheadedness, or signs of dehydration.

ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (increased risk of kidney impairment, high potassium, low BP—avoid especially in diabetes), potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (risk of high potassium), NSAIDs (may reduce BP effect and worsen kidney function), lithium (increased lithium toxicity), other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), diuretics/corticosteroids (electrolyte disturbances), antidiabetic medicines (may alter glucose control), digoxin (electrolyte changes may increase arrhythmia risk)

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
