Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that helps remove excess salt and water through urine, further reducing blood pressure and swelling.

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; avoid taking late in the day to reduce nighttime urination. Regular BP monitoring is advised.

Not recommended in pregnancy; stop and consult doctor if pregnancy occurs. Use caution in kidney or liver disease, dehydration, low blood pressure, electrolyte disturbances, gout, diabetes, or sulfa allergy (HCTZ). May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Monitor kidney function, blood pressure and electrolytes (Na/K) regularly. Risk of photosensitivity with hydrochlorothiazide; use sun protection. Seek urgent care for swelling of face/lips/tongue (angioedema).

Other antihypertensives (additive low BP), potassium supplements/salt substitutes or potassium-sparing diuretics (high potassium), NSAIDs (reduced effect/kidney risk), lithium (toxicity), digoxin (electrolyte-related toxicity), antidiabetics/insulin (dose adjustment may be needed), corticosteroids (electrolyte imbalance), alcohol (increased dizziness)

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
