Monograph
Hydrolysed casein (milk protein), Wheat flour, Sugar, Vitamins and minerals (fortified)
Protein-calorie supplementation for undernutrition, convalescence, increased protein needs (growth, pregnancy/lactation), general weakness and poor appetite
Threptin Lite provides high-quality dietary protein (hydrolysed casein) along with calories, vitamins and minerals to support tissue repair, muscle maintenance and overall nutrition. Hydrolysed protein is easier to digest and helps improve protein intake in people with poor appetite or increased requirements.
Powder for oral use. Mix the recommended quantity in milk or water and consume immediately; can be taken 1–2 times daily or as advised by a doctor/dietitian. Can be used between meals or with meals; follow label instructions for exact serving size.
Bloating, flatulence, nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea
Not for parenteral use. Contains milk protein (casein) and typically contains wheat/gluten—avoid if allergic to milk proteins or with gluten intolerance/celiac disease unless label confirms gluten-free. Use with caution in diabetes (may contain added sugar) and in kidney/liver disease where protein intake may need restriction. If symptoms of allergy occur, stop use and seek medical advice.
No clinically significant drug interactions known; if on diabetes medicines/insulin, monitor glucose due to carbohydrate content; separate from oral medicines if it causes stomach upset (about 1–2 hours).
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed; use a dry spoon; do not refrigerate unless label advises.
