Thyroneed 100 Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Thyroxine (100mcg). It is used for hypothyroidism, thyroid hormone replacement after thyroidectomy or radioiodine therapy, TSH suppression in certain thyroid cancers and goitre (as prescribed). It belongs to the group of medicines called Thyroid hormone (synthetic T4; levothyroxine).
Take orally once daily on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning 30. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Thyroneed 100 Tablet are palpitations, fast heartbeat, anxiety and irritability. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Thyroneed 100 Tablet works.
Most side effects of Thyroneed are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take orally once daily on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning 30–60 minutes before breakfast with water. Take at the same time each day; avoid taking with calcium/iron/antacids within 4 hours. Dose is individualized based on TSH/T4 and clinical response; do not stop or change dose without medical advice.
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4. It is converted to T3 in the body and restores normal thyroid hormone levels, helping regulate metabolism, energy, heart rate and body temperature.
Use only under medical supervision; overtreatment can cause hyperthyroidism, angina, arrhythmias and bone loss/osteoporosis. Use caution in elderly and in patients with coronary artery disease, hypertension, diabetes or adrenal insufficiency (treat adrenal insufficiency first). Not for weight loss; high doses can be dangerous. Monitor TSH/T4 periodically, especially after dose changes and during pregnancy.
If you miss a dose of Thyroneed 100mcg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, chest pain, tremor, fever and dangerous heart rhythm disturbance. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister/strip and out of reach of children.
