Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events like stroke and heart attack in appropriate high-risk patients.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks the action of angiotensin II on AT1 receptors, leading to relaxation of blood vessels and reduced aldosterone effects, thereby lowering blood pressure.

Tablet for oral use. Take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the fetus) and generally avoid during breastfeeding unless advised. Use caution in kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, dehydration/low salt, liver impairment, and in patients with high potassium. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (serum creatinine) and potassium especially when starting or changing dose. Seek help if severe dizziness/fainting, swelling of face/lips (angioedema), or reduced urination occurs.

Potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone, amiloride) and salt substitutes (risk of hyperkalemia), NSAIDs (reduced effect and kidney risk), lithium (increased lithium levels/toxicity), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (higher risk of kidney issues/hyperkalemia; avoid aliskiren in diabetes), diuretics (additive low BP)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
