Syrup
Relief of productive cough (wet cough) with thick mucus/chest congestion, including cough associated with acute bronchitis and other lower respiratory tract infections (as advised by a doctor).
LS cough syrups typically combine a bronchodilator with a mucolytic/expectorant. These ingredients help open the airways, loosen and thin mucus, and aid its expulsion to reduce chest congestion and ease breathing.
Shake well before use. Measure with a dosing cup/spoon and take by mouth as prescribed by the doctor. Usually taken 2–3 times daily; may be taken with or without food. Maintain adequate fluid intake unless advised otherwise.
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, tremor, palpitations, increased heart rate, dry mouth, throat irritation, restlessness, sweating
Use only under medical advice, especially in children. Caution in asthma/COPD patients, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, diabetes, seizure disorders, liver or kidney impairment. May cause dizziness/tremor—avoid driving if affected. Do not use for persistent/chronic cough (e.g., smoker’s cough) or cough with fever/rash unless evaluated. Seek care urgently for wheezing, worsening breathlessness, chest pain, or allergic reactions.
Beta-blockers (may reduce bronchodilator effect), other sympathomimetics/bronchodilators (additive side effects), MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants (may increase cardiovascular effects), diuretics/corticosteroids (may increase risk of low potassium with beta-agonists), CNS depressants/alcohol (may worsen dizziness), certain antibiotics like erythromycin and other QT-prolonging drugs (caution if formulation contains beta-agonist).
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
