Treatment of epilepsy/seizure disorders including partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures (as monotherapy or adjunct therapy) as prescribed.

Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic medicine that binds to synaptic vesicle protein SV2A in the brain. This helps stabilize neuronal activity and reduces abnormal electrical firing that can trigger seizures.

Oral tablet (OD/extended-release). Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time; swallow whole with water—do not crush, chew or split. Can be taken with or without food. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Sleepiness (somnolence),dizziness,headache,fatigue,irritability,nausea,vomiting,loss of appetite,coordination problems

May cause drowsiness/dizziness—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know its effects. Do not stop abruptly (risk of seizure worsening). Use caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be required). Monitor for mood/behavior changes, depression, aggression or suicidal thoughts; seek medical help if these occur. Rare severe skin reactions and blood count changes may occur. Inform doctor if pregnant/planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Other CNS depressants (alcohol, sedatives, opioids) may increase drowsiness; additive effects with other antiepileptics. Probenecid may reduce clearance of levetiracetam metabolite. Methotrexate levels/toxicity may increase when used with levetiracetam (monitor).

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), in a dry place protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
