Treatment of acid-peptic disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, gastritis/acid reflux symptoms (heartburn, regurgitation). Also used as part of H. pylori eradication regimens when prescribed with antibiotics.

Vonoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB). It directly and reversibly inhibits the gastric H+/K+-ATPase (proton pump), providing rapid and sustained reduction of stomach acid secretion.

Take as advised by your doctor. Usually taken once daily at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew. Continue for the full prescribed duration even if symptoms improve.

Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, headache, dizziness, flatulence

Long-term acid suppression may increase risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium, and fractures; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Seek medical advice if you have alarm symptoms (vomiting blood, black stools, unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing). Use with caution in severe liver disease. May mask symptoms of gastric malignancy—evaluate persistent/worsening symptoms. Not intended for immediate relief of acute chest pain.

Strong CYP3A inhibitors (e.g., clarithromycin, ketoconazole) may increase vonoprazan levels; CYP3A inducers (e.g., rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, St John’s wort) may reduce effect. Acid-suppression can alter absorption of pH-dependent drugs (e.g., ketoconazole/itraconazole, atazanavir, erlotinib). Warfarin and other narrow-therapeutic-index drugs: monitor as advised. Digoxin: monitor if needed.

Store below 25°C, in original pack, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
