Treatment and prevention of vitamin D deficiency, vitamin D insufficiency, support in calcium absorption, adjunct in osteopenia/osteoporosis, bone and muscle health

Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) is converted in the body to active vitamin D metabolites that increase intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate. This helps mineralization of bone and supports normal muscle function, correcting deficiency states.

Oral liquid shot. Take the contents of the vial/ampoule as directed by a physician; may be taken with or after food (fat-containing meal may improve absorption). Do not exceed prescribed frequency, especially if using other vitamin D/calcium supplements.

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, headache, weakness, increased urination, thirst

Use with caution in patients with hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, kidney stones, severe renal impairment, or sarcoidosis/other granulomatous diseases. Monitor calcium and vitamin D levels if used in high doses or long term. Seek medical advice if symptoms of high calcium occur (persistent nausea, vomiting, constipation, excessive thirst/urination, confusion).

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcemia), digoxin/cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with high calcium), anticonvulsants like phenytoin/phenobarbital (reduced vitamin D effect), rifampicin (reduced effect), cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption), systemic corticosteroids (reduced effect)

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
