Treatment and prevention of vitamin D deficiency, adjunct in calcium deficiency, rickets/osteomalacia, supports bone and teeth health
Cholecalciferol is converted in the liver and kidneys to active vitamin D, which increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate. This helps maintain normal blood calcium levels and supports bone mineralisation.
Oral drops. Shake well before use. Measure the prescribed dose using the dropper and give directly or mix with a small amount of milk/water. Can be taken with or without food; taking with food (fat-containing) may improve absorption. Use dose and duration as advised by a doctor.
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, headache, increased urination, weakness
Do not exceed recommended dose. Risk of hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcaemia, especially with high doses or prolonged use. Use with caution in kidney disease, kidney stones, hyperparathyroidism, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous diseases, and in patients with high calcium levels. Monitor calcium/vitamin D if on long-term therapy. Keep out of reach of children.
