Subcutaneous injection only (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm) once weekly on the same day each week, with or without food. Rotate injection sites; do not inject intravenously or intramuscularly. Follow the dose-escalation schedule prescribed by the doctor; if a dose is missed, take within 5 days otherwise skip and take next scheduled dose.

Prescription-only medicine. Risk of pancreatitis—seek medical help for severe persistent abdominal pain. May cause gallbladder disease (gallstones), dehydration and acute kidney injury especially with vomiting/diarrhoea; maintain fluids. Can increase heart rate; use caution in patients with cardiac disease. Risk of hypoglycaemia when used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Not recommended in patients with personal/family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2; report neck lump/hoarseness/dysphagia. Use caution in severe gastrointestinal disease (e.g., gastroparesis). Do not use for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis.
Insulin and sulfonylureas (increased hypoglycaemia risk), other GLP-1 receptor agonists (avoid duplication), medicines requiring rapid gastrointestinal absorption (may be affected due to delayed gastric emptying), warfarin/other anticoagulants (monitor INR when starting/changing dose), oral contraceptives (generally no clinically meaningful effect but monitor if vomiting/diarrhoea)
Store refrigerated at 2–8°C; do not freeze. Keep pen in original carton to protect from light. After first use, store as per label (often refrigerated or at room temperature per manufacturer guidance) and discard after the in-use period; keep cap on when not in use.
