Relief of dry cough and associated throat irritation (cough suppressant syrup).

Cough suppressant syrups typically reduce the cough reflex by acting on the cough centre in the brain and/or soothing the throat. This helps decrease the frequency and intensity of dry, non-productive cough.

Shake well before use. Measure with the provided cup/spoon. Take the prescribed dose by mouth, usually 2–3 times daily; can be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose; follow doctor’s advice especially for children.

Drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, constipation, dry mouth, stomach upset

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Use with caution in children, elderly, liver disease, asthma/COPD, and in people with a history of substance misuse (depending on ingredients). Do not use for persistent cough due to smoking, asthma, or emphysema unless advised by a doctor. Seek medical advice if cough lasts >7 days, returns, or occurs with fever, rash, or persistent headache.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (sedatives, benzodiazepines, opioids) may increase drowsiness; MAO inhibitors and certain antidepressants may interact with some cough suppressants; antihistamines may increase sedation.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
