Yogatel 40 Tablet

Yogatel 40 Tablet contains Telmisartan (40mg). Prescription required.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke/heart attack in high-risk patients as advised by doctor.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks angiotensin II at AT1 receptors, causing relaxation of blood vessels and reduced aldosterone effect, which lowers blood pressure and decreases cardiovascular strain.

Tablet: take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time; can be taken with or without food; swallow with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice. If a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose.

dizziness, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure, increased potassium (hyperkalemia), nausea, back pain, diarrhea

Not recommended in pregnancy (especially 2nd/3rd trimester) due to risk of fetal harm; consult doctor if planning pregnancy. Use caution in kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, dehydration/low salt intake, liver impairment, and in elderly. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine) and serum potassium, especially after starting or dose changes. Seek medical help for severe dizziness, fainting, swelling of face/lips, or reduced urine output.

Potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone, amiloride), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (higher risk of kidney injury/hyperkalemia; avoid with diabetes for aliskiren), NSAIDs (reduced effect and kidney risk), lithium (increased lithium toxicity), diuretics (additive BP lowering)
