Take by mouth as prescribed by the doctor, usually 1 tablet 1–2 times daily after food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew. Use for the shortest duration needed; avoid combining with other NSAIDs unless advised.
Acidity/heartburn, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, rash
Not recommended in pregnancy (especially 3rd trimester); avoid during breastfeeding unless advised. NSAIDs may increase risk of stomach ulcer/bleeding—use caution in patients with peptic ulcer, GI bleeding history, elderly, or with alcohol use. Use caution in kidney, liver or heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and in patients on blood thinners. Thiocolchicoside may cause drowsiness—avoid driving if affected; rare seizures reported, avoid in seizure disorders. Stop and seek medical help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, allergic reactions, or breathing difficulty.
Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel), other NSAIDs/corticosteroids (increased GI bleed risk), SSRIs/SNRIs (bleeding risk), antihypertensives/diuretics (reduced effect, kidney risk), lithium, methotrexate, cyclosporine/tacrolimus (kidney toxicity), alcohol (GI bleed), antiepileptics (seizure threshold considerations with thiocolchicoside)
