Prevention and treatment of zinc deficiency; nutritional supplementation to support immunity, growth, and recovery from illness.
Zinc is an essential trace element required for immune function, wound healing, protein synthesis, and cell division. Supplementation restores body zinc levels and supports normal physiological functions when dietary intake is inadequate.
Take by mouth as advised by a doctor. Generally taken once daily after food with water; avoid taking together with high-fibre/bran foods or milk if it upsets the stomach. Keep a 2–4 hour gap from iron, calcium or certain antibiotics unless prescribed together.
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, metallic taste
Do not exceed recommended dose. Use with caution in kidney disease. Long-term high-dose zinc may cause copper deficiency and anaemia; use only under medical supervision. Stop and seek medical advice if allergic reactions occur.
Tetracyclines (e.g., doxycycline), quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin/ofloxacin), penicillamine, iron supplements, calcium supplements, magnesium-containing antacids
