Drops — Eye, Ear & Nasal

Lubricant eye drops, antibiotic ear drops, nasal decongestants, and pediatric drops.

Drop formulations deliver medicine precisely to the eye, ear, or nose, providing targeted local treatment. They are essential for conditions like dry eyes, ear infections, allergic rhinitis, and nasal congestion.

Eye drops include artificial tears for dry eyes, antibiotic drops (moxifloxacin, tobramycin) for infections, antihistamine drops (olopatadine) for allergies, and anti-glaucoma drops. Always wash hands before instilling eye drops and avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye.

Nasal drops and sprays containing oxymetazoline or xylometazoline provide quick relief from nasal congestion but should not be used for more than 3-5 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion. Saline nasal drops are safe for regular use, including in infants.

Drops — Eye, Ear & Nasal — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I correctly put in eye drops?
Wash hands, tilt your head back, pull the lower eyelid down to form a pocket, hold the dropper above (without touching the eye), squeeze one drop into the pocket, close your eye gently for 1-2 minutes. Wait 5 minutes between different eye drop medications.
How long can I use eye drops after opening?
Most multi-dose eye drops expire 28 days after opening, regardless of the printed expiry date. Single-use vials should be discarded after one use. Preservative-free drops have shorter shelf lives. Mark the opening date on the bottle.
Can I use nasal drops for more than a week?
Decongestant nasal drops (oxymetazoline) should be used for maximum 3-5 days to prevent rebound congestion. Saline drops and steroid nasal sprays (fluticasone) are safe for longer use as prescribed by your doctor.
