Tretinoin (All-trans retinoic acid) 25 mg capsule

Uses of A-Tret 25MG Cap

Treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL, M3 subtype) in patients with t(15;17) / PML-RARA, typically for induction of remission under specialist supervision

• •Induces remission in acute promyelocytic leukemia
• •Promotes differentiation of leukemic promyelocytes
• •Reduces abnormal blast cells
• •Used as part of standard APL induction regimens

How it works

Tretinoin is a retinoid that binds to retinoic acid receptors and promotes differentiation and maturation of malignant promyelocytes. In APL it helps overcome the differentiation block caused by the PML-RARA fusion, reducing abnormal blasts and helping restore normal blood cell development.

Directions for use

Oral capsule. Dose and duration are strictly as prescribed by an oncologist (commonly weight-based in APL). Swallow whole with water, preferably with food to improve absorption; take at the same times each day. Do not crush or open the capsule.
