How Acnestar Gel works

Acne gels typically work by reducing acne-causing bacteria, decreasing inflammation, and/or preventing blockage of skin pores. This helps dry existing pimples and reduces formation of new lesions.

How to take Acnestar Gel

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the acne-affected skin once daily or as directed by a doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, inside nose, and broken/irritated skin; wash hands after application. Use sunscreen and moisturizer if dryness/irritation occurs.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Acnestar as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Acnestar than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Acnestar Gel

Most side effects of Acnestar are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Skin dryness
• peeling
• redness
• burning/stinging
• itching
• irritation

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

For external use only. May cause dryness and irritation; start with small amount and reduce frequency if needed. Avoid use on broken skin and avoid excessive sun exposure; use sunscreen. Stop and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling, blistering, or allergic reaction occurs. Use in pregnancy/breastfeeding only on medical advice; avoid applying on breast area while breastfeeding.

Interactions with other medicines

Concurrent use with other topical acne products (retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alcohol-based astringents, exfoliants) may increase irritation; avoid applying multiple irritant products together unless advised by doctor.

How to store Acnestar Gel

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the cap tightly closed and keep out of reach of children.
