Levocetirizine dihydrochloride 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg per 5 mL (typical for LC paediatric syrup)
Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itching, watery eyes), seasonal allergies, allergy-related cough/post-nasal drip; adjunct in allergy-associated wheeze/asthma prevention as advised by doctor
Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching and watery eyes. Montelukast blocks leukotriene receptors, reducing inflammation and swelling in the airways and nose, helping prevent allergy symptoms and wheeze.
Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a marked cup/syringe. Usually taken once daily, preferably in the evening; may be taken with or without food. Dose and duration as prescribed, especially for children.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Akair Lc Syrup. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
May cause sleepiness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Use with caution in severe kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed for levocetirizine). Montelukast is not for acute asthma attacks; keep rescue inhaler as prescribed. Rare mood/behaviour changes (agitation, anxiety, nightmares, depression, suicidal thoughts) have been reported with montelukast—stop and seek medical advice if these occur. Inform doctor about liver disease, history of epilepsy, or allergy to ingredients.
