Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of amiTONE 25mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Amitone than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Amitone are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

amiTONE 25mg Tablet may cause sleepiness. Take it at bedtime and do not drive or perform any activity requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking amiTONE 25mg Tablet, as it may cause excessive sleepiness. Monitor your weight during treatment, as this medicine can cause weight gain and increased appetite. It may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Pay close attention to any changes, especially sudden changes, in mood, behavior, thoughts, or feelings. This is particularly important when the medicine is started or when the dose is changed. This medication can significantly reduce saliva production, leading to dry mouth (xerostomia). Maintain strict oral hygiene by brushing twice daily with toothpaste and flossing regularly. This medication may reduce tear production, leading to dry eyes. If you wear contact lenses, your doctor may advise using preservative-free lubricating eye drops to maintain proper eye and lens hygiene.
