Lorazepam 1 mg
Short-term management of anxiety disorders and anxiety associated with depression; preoperative anxiety/sedation as prescribed.
Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of GABA (an inhibitory neurotransmitter) at GABA-A receptors in the brain. This produces anxiolytic, sedative, muscle-relaxant and anticonvulsant effects.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor, usually in divided doses; can be taken with or without food. Avoid abrupt discontinuation after regular use; dose is tapered gradually.
Common side effects of ATIVAN 1MG TAB may include:
Prescription-only benzodiazepine; may cause dependence, tolerance and withdrawal—use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Can cause excessive sedation and respiratory depression, especially with alcohol, opioids or other CNS depressants. Use caution in elderly (falls, confusion), liver or kidney impairment, respiratory disease (COPD/sleep apnea), depression/suicidal risk, and history of substance use disorder. Do not drive or operate machinery. Do not stop suddenly after long-term use; withdrawal may include anxiety, insomnia, tremor and seizures.
