Azopt Eye Drops contains Brinzolamide (1%w/v).
Azopt Opthalmic Suspension is used in the treatment of glaucoma.
Azopt Opthalmic Suspension is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. It works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Azopt as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Azopt than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Azopt are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
