Tofacitinib extended-release 11 mg

Uses of BD Tofa XR 11MG Tab

Treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults (when response to DMARDs like methotrexate is inadequate), psoriatic arthritis in adults, and moderate to severe ulcerative colitis in adults (as prescribed by specialist).

• •Reduces joint pain and swelling in rheumatoid arthritis
• •Improves physical function and disease control in psoriatic arthritis
• •Helps induce/maintain remission in ulcerative colitis (selected patients)
• •Lowers inflammatory markers and flare frequency

How it works

Tofacitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that reduces inflammatory signaling by inhibiting JAK enzymes involved in cytokine pathways. This lowers immune-mediated inflammation and helps reduce joint pain/swelling and gut inflammation in eligible patients.

Directions for use

Oral tablet (extended-release). Take 1 tablet once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole; do not crush, break, or chew. Use only as prescribed; regular lab monitoring is required.
