Budesonide 200 mcg per actuation (metered-dose inhaler)
Maintenance treatment and prevention of bronchial asthma; maintenance therapy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) where inhaled corticosteroid is indicated.
Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways. It decreases inflammatory mediator release and airway hyper-responsiveness, helping prevent wheezing and breathlessness. It is not meant for immediate relief of an acute asthma attack.
For inhalation use only. Use exactly as prescribed; typically taken regularly (once or twice daily). Shake inhaler well before use, exhale fully, seal lips around mouthpiece, press canister and inhale deeply, then hold breath ~10 seconds. Rinse mouth/gargle with water after each use to reduce oral thrush; use with a spacer if advised. Not for sudden asthma symptoms—use a reliever inhaler for acute attacks.

Long-term/high-dose use may cause adrenal suppression, reduced bone mineral density, growth suppression in children, skin bruising; monitor if on prolonged therapy. Seek medical help if breathing worsens or reliever use increases.
