How Budetrol 200 Capsule works

How to take Budetrol 200 Capsule

For inhalation use only with a compatible dry powder inhaler device (e.g., rotacap/capsule inhaler as prescribed). Use regularly at the same time each day; do not swallow the capsule. Rinse mouth/gargle with water after each use to reduce risk of oral thrush. Dose and frequency as directed by physician.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Budetrol as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Budetrol than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Budetrol 200 Capsule

Most side effects of Budetrol are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Not for relief of acute asthma attack/bronchospasm—use a rescue bronchodilator for sudden symptoms. Use with caution in untreated infections (e.g., TB, fungal/viral), glaucoma/cataract, osteoporosis, liver disease. Possible adrenal suppression with high doses/long-term use; do not stop abruptly without medical advice. Monitor growth in children. Rinse mouth after inhalation to prevent oral candidiasis.

Interactions with other medicines

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir/cobicistat, clarithromycin) may increase systemic budesonide effects; other corticosteroids may add to steroid side effects; caution with drugs that lower immunity.
