Bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, bronchitis), urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and typhoid/enteric fever (as prescribed).
This is typically a combination antibiotic where cefpodoxime (a cephalosporin) inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, and ofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone) inhibits DNA gyrase/topoisomerase IV, stopping bacterial DNA replication. Together they provide broad-spectrum coverage against susceptible bacteria.
Take tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water at the same time each day and complete the full course even if you feel better. Do not take with milk/antacids/iron or zinc supplements close to the dose (separate by 2–4 hours) if it contains ofloxacin.

Use only for bacterial infections; not effective for viral illness. Fluoroquinolones may cause tendonitis/tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, CNS effects (confusion, seizures), and may worsen myasthenia gravis—seek medical help if tendon pain, numbness/tingling, severe dizziness, or muscle weakness occurs. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed), history of seizures, heart rhythm disorders/QT prolongation, diabetes (may cause blood sugar changes). Stop and seek care for severe diarrhea (possible C. difficile) or allergic reactions (swelling, breathing trouble). Avoid excessive sunlight/UV exposure due to photosensitivity risk.
