Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated September 2026
Dabanox 25 Injection is an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA). It works by stimulating the bone marrow (soft tissue inside the bones which produces red blood cells) to produce more red blood cells.
Take the missed dose of Dabanox as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Dabanox than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
| Pregnancy | Dabanox 25 Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. |
|---|---|
| Breastfeeding | Dabanox 25 Injection is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. |
| Alcohol | It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Dabanox 25 Injection . Please consult your doctor. |
| Kidney | Dabanox 25 Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Dabanox 25 Injection is recommended. |
| Liver | Dabanox 25 Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dabanox 25 Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor. |
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Dabanox. Some combinations can change how Dabanox works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Dabanox below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
