Composition of Digene Mint Tablet

Digene Mint Tablet contains Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel IP 250 mg + Magnesium Hydroxide IP 250 mg + Simethicone USP 50 mg (per tablet). It belongs to the Antacids (aluminium & magnesium salts) + Antiflatulent (simethicone) class of medicines.

How Digene Mint Tablet works

Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide neutralize excess stomach acid and reduce irritation of the stomach lining. Simethicone breaks down gas bubbles in the gut, easing bloating and discomfort.

How to take Digene Mint Tablet

Chew the tablet thoroughly and swallow; do not swallow whole. Commonly taken after meals and at bedtime or as directed by a doctor. Keep a gap of at least 2 hours from other medicines.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Digene Mint as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Digene Mint than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Digene Mint Tablet

Most side effects of Digene Mint are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• abdominal discomfort
• belching

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in kidney disease or on long-term use (risk of electrolyte imbalance and accumulation). Do not exceed recommended dose or use for prolonged periods without medical advice. Seek medical help if symptoms persist beyond 1–2 weeks, or if you have severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood, black stools, unexplained weight loss, or difficulty swallowing. May reduce absorption of many medicines—separate dosing.

Interactions with other medicines

Tetracyclines, fluoroquinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin/levofloxacin), levothyroxine, iron salts, bisphosphonates (e.g., alendronate), digoxin, ketoconazole/itraconazole—take these at least 2–4 hours apart
