How Donep Sy works

Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain. Donep Syrup is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking.

How to take Donep Sy

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Donep Syrup may be taken with or without food.

Taking more Donep Sy than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Donep Sy are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Donep Sy

Store Donep Sy below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Donep Sy

You have been prescribed Donep Syrup to slow down the progression of Alzheimer's disease. It does not cure Alzheimer's disease but may help improve brain function and ability to do daily activities. Take it with or without food, preferably at night before going to bed. It may cause diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated while taking Donep Syrup. Monitor your body weight regularly as both Donep Syrup and Alzheimer's disease can cause weight loss. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how Donep Syrup affects you. Be cautious while taking this medicine if you suffer from peptic ulcer as it may cause vomiting, stomach bleeding, stomach pain, or discomfort. Inform your doctor if you develop muscle tremors, especially if you have Parkinson’s disease. Inform your doctor if you experience seizures or convulsions while taking this medicine.
