How Gasoflat Tablet works

Gasoflat Tablet is a combination of two drugs named activated charcoal and simethicone. The extra spaces in the charcoal trap gas molecules, reducing the gas that causes bloating. Simethicone works by reducing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also restricts the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.

How to take Gasoflat Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gasoflat Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Gasoflat Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Gasoflat than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Gasoflat Tablet

Most side effects of Gasoflat are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Gasoflat Tablet

Store Gasoflat below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Gasoflat Tablet can make it harder for your body to absorb other medicines, especially certain antibiotics. Therefore, avoid taking any other medicine 2 hours before or after you take Gasoflat Tablet. Do not give this medicine to children as safety has not been established. Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent flatulence: a. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water. b. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food. c. Do not go to bed immediately after a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion. d. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
