Glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin (as Metformin Hydrochloride) 500 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (when diet and exercise alone are not enough); helps control blood glucose in adults.
Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from the pancreas. Metformin (a biguanide) reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, helping the body use glucose better.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once or twice daily with meals to reduce stomach upset and risk of low sugar. Swallow whole with water; do not skip meals while taking this medicine.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Glimigrand-Mv 2.2MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Risk of hypoglycaemia (especially if meals are skipped, excessive exercise, or alcohol use); metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis (higher risk in kidney/liver impairment, dehydration, severe infection, heart failure, or alcohol abuse). Not recommended in severe renal impairment; kidney function should be monitored. Use caution in elderly. Temporarily stop metformin before/after iodinated contrast procedures or major surgery as advised by doctor. Seek urgent care for symptoms of lactic acidosis (rapid breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain, unusual sleepiness).
